The Hans Accept a Call to serve a Church in Waterloo, Iowa The Hans will bless Westminster United Presbyterian Church in Waterloo, Iowa with their faith, dignity and musicianship beginning January 1, 2010. We will sorely miss the Han family. Thank you Taemin, Miah, Grace and Solomon for sharing your gifts in this part of God’s church.
Praising God with music is an integral part of our Christian life. We have various musical groups you can join - Chancel, Handbell, Covenant(K-2nd), Covenant(3rd-5th) and Celebration (6th-12th) choirs and Instrumental Ensemble. Newcomers are always welcome for the regular choir season from September through May and guest members for seasonal events such as Fine Arts Public Concerts, Christmas and Easter services. If you are interested, contact Music Director or choir members. Handbell Choir: Mondays 7:15 pm Chancel Choir: Thursdays 7:15 pm
Children’s and Youth Choirs: Covenant (K-2nd) and Calvin(3rd-5th): Sunday mornings from 9:50 - 10:30 a.m.We teach children how to read music and sing songs that will become part of the leadership in worship services. The Covenant and/or Calvin Choir will sing on the fourth Sunday of the month and participate special music worships such as Christmas and Musical Sunday. These experiences will guide them in sincere Christian life through their whole life. This choir will be led by Sue Peters.
Celebration choir: Sunday morning following Faith Development We teach children how to read music and sing songs that will become part of the leadership in worship services. The Celebration Choir will sing on the first Sunday of the month at the Traditional Worship, and participate special music worships such as Christmas and Musical Sunday. These experiences will guide them in sincere Christian life through their whole life. This choir will be led by Sue Peters.
Instrumental Ensemble: Sunday 8:15 a.m. as scheduled. This musical group is for wind, brass and percussions and plays for Sunday service about once a month and performs for church public concerts. Junior and senior students and returning instrumental players from their school years enjoy the music together. Larry Huntington leads this group.
